Get To Know Mr. Brooks

I have been teaching physical education for over 19 years and I have had the great pleasure of teaching in Sharon for the past 17 years. I love coming to work everyday and not only teaching the children of East Elementary how to develop the skills necessary for a lifetime of health and wellness, but also learning from them. I am truly amazed by the skills and talents the students show everyday. It is a place where HEART is consistently displayed and the students SOAR like eagles.

Growing up, I have always had the passion for sports and being physically active. I have participated in many team and individual sports from a very early age. I have enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football, tennis, and golf. I was very fortunate to have a wonderful support system to help guide me in my younger years. I can’t thank my parents enough for all the love and guidance they showed me. I was also blessed to have such dedicated teachers and coaches who helped mold me into the person I am today.

My education consists of earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, Health, and Adapted Physical Education from the University of Rhode Island in 1990. I also hold a Master of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport and Human Performance from Bridgewater State University in 2007. I am currently taking professional development courses from the University of La Verne located n California to further my knowledge as an educator.

I currently live in Rhode Island with my beautiful wife and our two children. Our oldest is 13 years old and our youngest is 5 years old. I also have a very spoiled cat named Klein. In my free time I love to play golf, spend a day at the beach, and do some gardening and DIY projects around my home. When I am not acting like a chauffer for my kids I also enjoy watching sports and the HGTV channel.
