SMS Science Fair
The Sharon High School National Honor Society is excited to present the second installment of the middle school science fair. Thinking creatively by completing an original experiment on a subject that the students enjoy shows them the ins-and-outs of scientific design, and could spark their inspiration in the growing STEM field. The 2019 middle school fair will be held in early February. An information session for the students was held during advisory on November 27th. An information session hosted for the parents will be held on a date that has yet to be determined. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mr. O’Rourke or Ms. Burke, the Science Coordinator for Gr. 6-12, at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing your child’s ideas come to life.

Dry Eye Student Survey
We have two eighth graders conducting a survey about dry eye for the student body here at SMS. While researching about dry eye, they found out that dry eye is becoming more common in adolescence. In addition, few surveys have been conducted on kids from ages 11-14. They are doing this because they believe that with the data that is collected, they can determine whether, as a whole, their peers experience dry eye. A few things that you should know about the survey -it is completely optional and anonymous for each student and there will be no personal information collected from your child except for their birth date, their gender, and their ethnicity. We hope you are supportive of the research. Thank you!
IMPORTANT - Pick-up Line Procedures
When getting in the car line to pick up your child at the end of the day, please stay to the right in the circle so that emergency vehicles are able to pass. Thank you.
Use of Phones
Please do not text your children or ask them to text you during the school day. Students are not allowed to have their phones on. We will take the phone away. Please see the SMS Handbook for details of our electronics policies.
