Handwriting is a complex topic. At the elementary level, occupational therapists focus on developing fine motor coordination for tool use, visual motor skills for tracing, copying and accuracy of formation of letters and numerals as well as spatial organization of print on a page. In the digital age, we now have the added challenge and advantage of using iPad apps to encourage reluctant writers and improve legibility and productivity.
