    Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying healthy and managing through these difficult times. I wanted to make you aware of some resources the students could be using at home. They are completely optional. On my webpage, under helpful links students can access khan academy for math and Epic for reading. Students should know their khan academy login (my apologies as I don't have access to these from home, but they use them quite often and should know them). Our Epic class code is: pqi7978. This will work during the week during the school day hours. This site offers a variety of reading material and students really enjoy using it. I have a collection in their mailboxes for folktales. That is our next unit in reading. They may enjoy some of these stories. Again, this is all optional, but I wanted to offer families some resources. As always students could also keep a journal and may do so in their Google Drive accounts if they wish. Be safe!

  • March Update

Posted by Kelly-Jean Susi on 3/11/2020 10:00:00 AM

    Dear Families,

I cannot believe it is already March. If you haven't had a chance to sign up for a conference, please reach out to me for available times. If your child is absent, please check the website for homework assignments.

In math, we are currently finishing up unit 7 which includes algebra and coordinate planes. In science, we just started our energy/ecosystems unit. In social studies, we are finishing up explorers and will be moving on to the colonies. In reading, we are working on literary essays and re-writing stories from a different characters perspectives. Next week, we will begin our unit on folktales, fables, myths, and legends. In writing, we are finishing up our poetry unit and will continue to work on literary essays and narrative writing.

Miss Commons, our student teacher from Bridgewater State, has been an excellent addition to our classroom. She has built a great rapport with students and has planned some really great lessons for our classroom.

We will celebrate pi day on Monday the 16th this year as it falls on a weekend.

    Mrs. Susi
