•                                              ******* ARTWORK *******

Here is an update on student artwork from art in the art room. For 5th graders, when you come to get your bags of personal items (locker and desk items), it will also have your 2D artwork. This will not require a separate pick up. Again, it will be in your bag with all of your other school items. Your ceramic pieces will not be in this bag. They could break if I put them in the bag to go home. When people are allowed to go back to the building, I will set up a pick up day for clay pieces. This will most likely be in the fall or winter. For all other grades, I will wait till we are in the building to pass back all of your work (2D and 3D). My hope is to display the pieces at some point, even if that is intermittently thought the year, then pass back to you. I know you all are excited to have your artwork, but know that it is safe in the art room closet and waiting for you. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

    Artfully,

    Mrs. Mellman

  • Heights Artists,

I've missed you all and I hope you are well and enjoying your time with your families. I can't wait to hear about what you have been doing while we are apart. I have been doing puzzles, walking my dog, baking, helping my two girls stay on track with their learning and of course getting art lessons ready for you all. I have been adding new projects for you to try while we are working remotely. These are optional art projects and feel free to try other grade levels project and scale up or down accordingly. I will post a new lesson each week for K-1, 2-3, & 4-5. Please click on the link to the left for your grade level art lesson. If you don't have some of the supplies that the project lesson is using, use whatever you have handy at home. Also, the handouts are helpful tools but they are not guidelines of what your picture should look like. Have fun and enjoy, don’t get stuck on what it has to look like - they are just helpful tools - just like in art class. If you would like to have your artwork shared in our student art gallery, please email me your artwork and I will load it into the gallery. If you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to email me!
