Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. in Physical Education, Minor in Health Eastern Connecticut State University
This is my 7th year teaching Physical Education here in Sharon. I currently teach P.E. at both East Elementary School (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday PM, and Friday) and Cottage Street School (Tuesday and Thursday AM). Previously, I have had experiences teaching P.E. at the elementary level in Mansfield, CT and Thompson, CT. I’ve taught Health Education at the elementary level in Thompson, CT and Melrose, MA, and have taught Health at the high school level in Fall River, MA. Teaching P.E. is something that I’ve always wanted to do and every day I continue to be excited about the opportunity to work with the kids in Sharon and share my passion for physical activity.
I am passionate about teaching the things that have really made a difference in my life. I appreciate the opportunity that participating in sports provides in helping people develop positive character traits and good sportsmanship. As a child growing up in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, and throughout high school, I enjoyed playing a variety of team sports including football, basketball, and baseball. At the college level, I was fortunate enough to be able to play football at Framingham State College in Framingham, MA. As I’ve grown older, I now find myself enjoying lifetime activities like hiking, golfing, kayaking, snowboarding, bicycling, and running. I view physical activity as a great way to spend time with family, reduce stress, improve my health, and build relationships with friends.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, CT in May of 2009 where I majored in Physical Education and minored in Health. I am also certified to teach Physical Education & Health Education at all grade levels in Massachusetts. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Physical Education at Bridgewater State University.
