Bob Pomer, Dean of Academic Affairs

Mr. Pomer has been Dean of Academic Affairs/Guidance Director at Sharon High School since 2010. He has served in similar roles as private and public schools in Newton, MA, Darien, CT, and New York City. He is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross (BA, History), Boston College (MEd, Counseling Psychology), and Sacred Heart University (CAGS, Education Administration). Before beginning as a guidance counselor, Mr. Pomer was a college admissions counselor at Western New England University and Fairfield University. He lives with his wife and two sons in the Boston suburbs. He is a USA Hockey certified coach and official. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, crossword puzzles, playing ice hockey and softball, and coaching his sons' hockey teams.

Tanya Keeney, Counselor

Ms. Keeney is a native Minnesotan who moved to New England in 2002. She began working at Sharon High School as a School Counselor in 2008. She has a long resume prior to working in Sharon. She is a proud graduate of Bridgewater State University’s School Counseling program, after completing her undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota and Castleton State College. Before making the move to School Guidance, Ms. Keeney was a college admissions counselor, most recently at Castleton in Vermont. She has held a myriad of full-time positions in her past, including managing a record store with real vinyl records and working as a photographer. She has worked as an administrator at a runaway youth shelter in Minneapolis, and in training and development with University of Minnesota libraries. In her spare time, she rides her Triumph Bonneville motorcycle around the back roads of southeastern Massachusetts, hikes and skis in Vermont with her family, reads voraciously, and listens to music of all kinds.

Andrea d'Entremont, Counselor

Mrs. d‘Entremont joined the Sharon High School community in 2000 after spending her first six years as a Guidance Counselor in Holliston. She has been involved in a number of activities during her time at Sharon High School including the Eagle Block committee. (So if you are ever looking for someone to thank for Eagle Block, drop by and thank her personally.) She is a graduate of Bridgewater State University’s counseling program and spent time working in college residential life prior to embarking on her school counseling career. She lives with her family in Franklin. Her husband, three children and two dogs live a fairly routine suburban lifestyle filled with her children’s activities, walks in the woods with the dogs and keeping up with family and friends. She enjoys summers in Prince Edward Island embracing the peacefulness of the island’s north shore coastline. While on the island, she walks the beach daily collecting beach glass, cooks with wonderful homegrown and organic ingredients and reads everything she doesn’t have time to read during the school year.

Erin Regan, Counselor

Ms. Regan began working at Sharon High School as a school counselor in 2006, after spending 2 years as a school counselor at Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston's school counseling program and gained valuable experiences as a social worker prior to entering the school-counseling field. In addition to her time spent with the students at Sharon High School, she has been actively involved in college admissions field through The New England Association for College Admissions Counseling (NEACAC). In NEACAC, she not only brings valuable information regarding trends in college admissions to the guidance department, but also helps with the professional development of new counselors to the field. Ms. Regan lives with her husband, son, and dog. Her son keeps her days filled with math flash cards, spelling tests, and play dates. Ms. Regan also enjoys participating in sprint triathlons and road races in the warmer weather.  In 2017, Ms. Regan was named President-Elect of the New England Association for College Admission Counseling.

Mr. Baltera joined the Sharon High School community in 2017 after serving as a guidance intern and long-term substitute in Weston.

Susan Ryall-McAvoy, Counselor

Ms. McAvoy is the longest tenured member of the guidance department having started at Sharon High School in 1988. She is a graduate of the Boston College Counseling/Psychology program. She is the coordinator of the Junior Awards Program and the Nominated Awards Program. She also teams with Ms. Keeney coordinating the junior class trip to the National College Fair in Boston. When not answering emails at all hours of the day, she enjoys long walks, watching Law and Order, Thai food and vacationing in Cape May, NJ. She is a proud member of FAME and has been actively involved with the hosting of the Massachusetts Theater Guild’s High School Theater Festival at Sharon High. She and her husband Jake are residents of Sharon. Her daughter Rosalie was a member of the SHS class of 2014, and son Russel graduated in 2010.

Jacquie Kaye, Counselor

Mrs. Kaye began working at Sharon High School in the fall of 2004. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After working for a few years, she returned to Boston University and is a graduate of the BU School of Education with a Master of School Counseling. Beyond the walls of Sharon High School, she spends most of her free time with her husband Daniel (SHS '97) and their two young daughters. She also loves spending time with friends whenever possible. In the summer she loves to go to the beach in order to brace herself for the cold Massachusetts winter.

Mrs. Olsen has been with the SHS Guidance Department since December of 2006. Raised in Arlington, Massachusetts, she graduated from North Adams State College (now known as Mass. College of Liberal Arts) with a degree in Psychology. She worked for Honeywell Information Systems for 8 years before becoming a “Stay-at-Home Mom” and raising her 3 boys in Easton, where she still resides with her husband Bill. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walk-jogging, participating in her bowling league and boot camp, skiing in the winter and beaching it in the summer!

Dawn Phelps, Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Phelps began working at Sharon High School in the fall of 2011. After working in the Attleboro School system for 10 years, she then worked at Wheaton College in the Admissions office. She soon realized that she missed the interaction with high school students most and was blessed to find a job in Sharon! Mrs. Phelps’ passion is riding in the Pan Mass Challenge and raising money for The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. When not training for her yearly 190-mile ride, she enjoys gardening, paper crafts, baking and hosting dinner parties and lunches! “I can do that” is her slogan! And oh yes, Mrs. Phelps is an avid sports fan, especially Duke Basketball! Mrs. Phelps has 4 grown children and two grandchildren. She lives in Attleboro with her husband, two cats and her chocolate lab, Guinness!
