PUBLIC GIFTS TO THE SCHOOLS
The Superintendent of Schools will have the authority to accept gifts, including cash, for the school department in the name of the School Committee when such gifts are of educational value and worth less than $500. School Committee must approve any gift, including cash, which is valued at $500 or more.
Gifts over $50, but less than $500, in value to individual schools must be approved by the building principal and reported to the Superintendent, who will then inform School Committee.
Gifts become the property of the Sharon Public Schools and as such, may not be designated by the donor for any particular classroom or school.
Gifts that would involve permanent changes in school buildings or sites will be subject to prior approval of the School Committee.
There can be no advertising related to the donation other than a gift acknowledgement, unless approved under KHB, Advertising in the Schools.
