The School Committee declares its policy to provide condoms (without cost) to its high school students 16 and older. Such condoms shall be made available to students whose parents/guardians do not opt-out of the program (parents shall be provided a form at the beginning of the school year, which outlines the condom program and which provides an opt-out election).

Eligible students may obtain condoms, at no cost, from nurses, social workers, and counselors at the High School. These staff will offer counseling to students who request condoms under the appropriate circumstances, to ensure the student is knowledgeable about condom use, the risks associated with unprotected sexual behavior, and the private and public resources and support that are available to help the student in his/her decision-making.
