    CO-CURRICULAR TRANSPORTATION POLICY for Athletic and Co-Curricular Activities

    1. At no time may any employee transport students in private vehicles.
    2. No participating student shall be allowed to drive himself/herself to an out-of-district athletic or co- curricular activity except as provided in this policy.
    3. Students attending out-of-district school sponsored athletic, field trips or co-curricular activities shall be transported by properly licensed public or private carriers except as provided in this policy.
    4. In certain circumstances, parents and/or legal guardians may transport a participating pupil to and/or from an athletic or other school sponsored activity. Permission may be granted for such private transportation by the parents or legal guardian provided that a signed waiver or in an emergency, a written request be submitted to the Principal Assistant Principal, or in the case of an athletic event, the Coordinator of Athletics and Physical Education prior to the event, at least 48 hours (two days) if possible. This applies only to parents of the student involved. It does not allow for parents to transport someone else’s child.

    Except in emergency cases coaches, directors, advisors or other school faculty members do not have authority to make exceptions to these regulations.

    1. In certain circumstances, participating students may transport him/herself to and/or from an athletic or other school sponsored activity. Permission may be granted for such private transportation with the approval of the parents or legal guardian provided that a signed waiver or in an emergency, a written request is submitted to the Principal, Assistant Principal, or in the case of an athletic event, the Coordinator of Athletics and Physical Education prior to the event, at least 48 hours (two days) if possible. This applies only to the participating student involved. It does not allow for the participating student to transport any other student other than siblings.
    2. In emergency cases involving the health and safety of students and or school employees and where prior permission from the Principal, Assistant Principal or Coordinator of Athletic Events is not feasible, transportation may be provided by private means with the permission of the a coach, director, advisor or other faculty member.
    3. At no time, except in an emergency and with a signed waiver, will students be allowed to provide their own transportation to or from school events between 10PM and 6AM.
