TEACHING ABOUT RELIGION
The Sharon School Committee adheres to a policy of the separation of Church and State. In implementation of this policy, school personnel are directed to refrain from the direct or indirect teaching of any sectarian principles, beliefs, or dogmas.
Any classroom discussion of religion must relate directly to the objectives and content of courses approved by the School Committee for inclusion in the curriculum.
The above policy statement shall not be construed as prohibiting the study of works of art, music, or literature having religious themes as their inspiration.
