STAFF ETHICS / CONFLICT OF INTEREST
The prime responsibility of any teacher or staﬀ member in the Sharon Public Schools is fulﬁllment of his/her contractual obligations. No employee shall engage in or have a ﬁnancial interest, directly or indirectly, in any business, organization or activity that raises a reasonable question of conﬂict with his/her responsibilities or with the mission of the Sharon Schools.
No school administrator or other school employee serving as a job-performance evaluator shall perform that function in cases where s/he is directly related to the employee being evaluated.
The School Committee expects members of its professional staﬀ to be familiar with and to adhere to the State Ethics Law (M.G.L 268A) and its interpretations by the State Ethics Commission. Many ethical dilemmas can be avoided by familiarity with the law and with its requirements for disclosure of potential conﬂicts of interest.

- travel expenses
- second jobs
- summer jobs
- running for School Committee
