PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETINGS
In accordance with General Laws, Chapter 30A, Sections 18-25, all meetings of the School Committee shall be open to the public and to the press, except for meetings that deal with discussion and action on such matters as are properly conducted in executive session.
The public shall be permitted to speak at School Committee meetings. No person shall address a public meeting of the School Committee without leave of the presiding officer at such meeting, and all persons present shall, at the request of such presiding officer, be silent.
The Chair shall rule on the time to be allowed for public discussion, the appropriateness of the subject being presented, and the suitability of the time for such presentation. The School Committee as a whole shall have the final decision in determining the appropriateness of all such rulings.
