Present: Jon Hitter, Marcy Kaplan, Laura Salomons, Emily Smith-Lee, Veronica Wiseman

E. Smith-Lee called the Open Session meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and asked for a motion to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of hearing a Level 3 grievance, litigation and collective bargaining with the intent to return to Open Session.
MOTION: (Salomons/Hitter) Moved to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of hearing a Level 3 grievance, litigation and collective bargaining with the intent to return to Open Session. Yes vote: Hitter, Kaplan, Salomons, Smith-Lee, Wiseman
Executive Session was convened at 7:02 p.m.
Level 3 Grievance
MTA attorney, Donna Buckley, on behalf of a Middle School staff member, presented their Level 3 Grievance to the School Committee. T. Farmer presented correspondence and back-up materials. Following the presentation of the Level 3 Grievance, Attorney Donna Buckley, Jackie Mann, Lisa Scarborough, Chuck Fazzio Diane Halpern and Mr. Halpern left the meeting at 7:34 p.m.
The Committee discussed the grievance. It was the unanimous decision of the Committee to deny the Level 3 grievance. Attorney Beach, on behalf of the School Committee, will prepare a letter of response for signature by the Chair within the contractual five working days. E. Smith-Lee asked for a motion.
MOTION: (Salomons/Wiseman) Moved to deny the Level 3 Grievance and authorize Attorney Beach to draft a letter of response for signature by Chair, Smith-Lee. Yes vote: Hitter, Kaplan, Salomons, Smith-Lee, Wiseman
The MOA has been shared with the STA. A vote by the full membership will be within the next few weeks.
DOL Settlement Agreement
Attorney Beach presented an overview of the recent DOL settlement. The decision by DOL will be posted for 14 days.
There being no further Executive Session business, E. Smith-Lee asked for a motion to adjourn Executive Session and return to Open Session with the intent not to return to Executive Session.
MOTION: (Salomons/Kaplan) Moved to adjourn Executive Session.
Yes vote: Hitter, Kaplan, Salomons, Smith-Lee, Wiseman
Executive Session was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
