Negotiations with Non-Union Personnel
T. Farmer reviewed the thirteen non-union personnel that he will be entering into negotiations with starting in February. He outlined plans for renaming the position of Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Administration to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Administration. As Susan Owen, Business Manager, has extensive knowledge of the operating budget, Mr. Farmer has more need for the Assistant Superintendent to have greater responsibility for curriculum, particularly in light of the ongoing changes mandated from the DESE.
Mr. Farmer also informed the Committee of his desire to restructure the title of the Director of Technology to Director of Information and Technology. The potential exists that Mr. Marcus will assume additional responsibility of overseeing Libraries/Media district-wide.
One administrator will be a non-renewal.
Each contract will be negotiated individually. There will be no straight percentage increases for everyone.
There being no further Executive Session business, E. Smith-Lee asked for a motion to adjourn Executive Session.
MOTION: (Salomons/Hitter) Moved to adjourn Executive Session.
Yes vote: Currul-Dykeman, Hitter, Kaplan, Salomons, Smith-Lee, Wiseman
Executive Session was adjourned at 10:55 p.m.
Submitted on behalf of the School Committee by: Helen Campanario, Recording Secretary to the School Committee
